Rear end swap, new noise
Hey, I put in a new rearend with 3:42's. We did it at a shop. Did everything right, everything is tightened as it should be and I have a really bad thump from the right side. Going over bumps. Alsmost sounds like an exaust rattle, but we didn;t even mess with it. Anyone have this problem? It was a straight swap out, 99 rear with 3:08's to a 00' LSD w/ 3:42's. Axle has 26,000 miles on it.

Yah, we did that. We used a pry bar on everything we could think of to move it around. Nothing. Except in the air, you can make the spring rattle where it sits on the top of the axle.

As far as I know, we checked everything. I just don't get it. As far as the spring, It moved just enough to get it to make a noise on that round base it sits on. But that was with the axle hanging when it was on the lift.
