Guess theres 3 different actually, straight, hitachi (305/350 TPIs etc), and stagered, the staggered one was only used with 168tooth flexplates so i have to drill and tap my block since im using a 153 tooth flywheel i had to be able to use my straight across bolt pattern starter. Did already actually before i even read this post. Was a f*ckin ***** man had to do it underneath the car, had a f*ckin tap break off in the hole i drilled still not even done i started today at like 0900 and just got in right now 16:30, think im done for the day

i got her running today guys, only for a sec tho cuz i have no oil pressure so i shut her off...aftermarket pump with an ARP shaft and a malory distributor, now i primed it before and with my drill i got 60 psi with it spinning as fast as the drill can spin so i know the pump works so my guess is my distributor isnt making contact with the shaft...but the distributor is all the way down so my question is do they make different length shafts or whats the deal? It came with its own shaft so im gonna try that but i figured every shaft is the same length so why would my ARP one not be long enough? Anybody think they know was up?

its not a tall deck, whats deck height on a tall deck? None the less if it was a tall deck i wouldnt have had to worry about my piston to valve clearance which i did, my pistons would not have been sticking out the hole if it was a tall deck. Im pretty sure its these intake gaskets theyre the hugest ones ive ever seen imma try to get a skinny one and see if that does it. Only reason i think this is cuz i remember having to put the cork gasket for the front and back of the block and still having like 1/2" gap which i had to fill with rtv sealant.
