what should my first mod be?

I have a 01 3.8 pewter firebird, everything is stock except i put a ram air hood on it. i don't want to put a whole lot of money in it, but what would be a good cheap mod, that would really make a difference in my car.

I'd go with an Cat-Back system first. I used to own a 98 3.8 that was the second thing I did to mine after gettin a K&N filter it helps out a good bit.

A full system would benifit you the best but a cat-back exhaust would be allright for starts, I had the Flowmaster system on mine, i didnt really like it i sounded allright but im into more loud so i would recamend either SLP loud mouth or TSP rumbler cat-back. Unless you dont want really loud go with a chambered cat-back.

My flows sounded ricey compared to the magnaflow or slp on my 3.8, my friends had them my car sounded like ****. I havnt heard flows with headers on a 3.8 so i dont know what that would sound like but magnaflow was by far the besti heard on a v6 its not as raspy as the rest of them.

is it a manual? if so i say get ahurst shifter....while this isnt really a performance mod it really makes the car fun to drive and is something u experience everytime u drive, plus u can slam through the gears and not worry about messing up your tranny thanx to the adjustable stops
