what do you drive, you talk too much you probably dont even have a car. your probably like half the stereotypical j-body haters, they dont have cars, they are all "planning" to get a sweet s15, a firebird or a mustang...

Just like your name implies that you own a cavalier my name implies what I own...

But I have more than one car. Hence why jbody is in my rear view mirror and why I can bash them. You will get it sooner or later.

eh buddy, I own a nice little Z24 and I like it too and yes I have to put up with all the hater crap, but be careful who you call out. You don`t want to call out a stock supra let alone one with work like I`m sure this Supradam`s guy car is. Cavaliers are nice and if you want to spend money on it go ahead. I have a friend with a supercharged 2.4. Goes pretty good, not the fastest thing on the road, nor would it ever be, lets face it, it is a cavalier and unless you have nothing to do with a 100,000 dollars then it never would be king of the street. I`m in between mustangs right now, but I usually have one in the garage, but it doesn`t have to be a stang, could be a talon, supra, civic with a nice DOHC swap, or etc. My cav is nice but I would never spend money on the motor its just not designed for it. Just made it look nice so I have something nice to drive all year and the toys stay in the garage. However if you want to be one of the few that does have a crazy fast J-body, go for it but your gonna have to spend a ridiculous amount of money and I just don`t think its worth it.

If he actually is running in the 11's then thats impressive. What isn't impressive is that there are a billion other J-bodies in the GTA yet only one of them runs repectable times, and even then has to dismantle half the car when they run at the track... I guess the negligable difference in air intake temperatures is worth the trade-off in aerodynamic drag.

And some how people still argue that Civics are inferior to J-bodies. Whether you like japanese cars or not, those Civics are fast for a reason... they have potential to go fast. J-bodies don't, and they suck.

J-bodies have potential, the fact of the matter is nobody bothers building one properly. Theres a 500whp sunfire gt that if you search for you may find. The ecotec engine has TONS of potential. Theres someone putting out 1200hp in the ecotec. Thats impressive. I think he runs 7s on the 1/4.

Any car has potential to go fast, it just depends if its built properly. Theres j-bodies putting out 300whp, and they blow their engines because they are on stock internals. Too many people do it and it gives j-bodies a bad rep. A properly build j-body can be just as fast and reliable as a fast civic.

Im sure it may be just as reliable, on paper, but nobody has done it.

Ooooohh wow 500whp sunfire. What is that, the highest horsepower street legal sunfire in north america? Do you realize how many 500+whp civics are out there? How many 300-400whp street civics are in Ontario...

1/1000 modded jbody's run 13's
1/100 modded civics run 13's

7's eh? Sure, in a pro-drag car.
Toyota pulled off 7 second et's in a 3200lb street legal supra in 1990, in the rain. 7 Second ET's for a car in that class is not very rare...

Oh, and the blown engines are mainly coming from there lack of knowing how to tune.

Yeah people have done it.

Big deal that more civics run 13s, does that mean civics are better? No it just means more people mod their civics. Because of the 2200 most people back out from modding their j-body because its not boost friendly, and the aftermarket support for it sucks. Very few people have built their 2.4s properly therefore most run low 14s with a s/c. The ecotec is still fairly new to a lot of people, but people are building them properly.

And sure the civics are 300-400whp, but they have 200-300 lb/ft tq...Where as the 200-300whp j-body will also have 200-350 lb/ft tq.

Tuning is all new to the j-body scene now with the new tuning software available. But not a lot of people know how to tune. Aftermarket support for the civic is a hell of a lot better and its growing every day for the j-body.

And civics arent "meant" for speed. J-bodies and civics were made for daily drivers, not speed. They can both be built for speed though.

BTW that street legal supra is also rwd! How can you compare that to a j-body?

Can you list me 10 things that are better about the newest model jbody and newest model civic?

you tell me

Hmm base 05 cavalier vs 05 base civic, cavalier has 25 more hp and 40 more torque. Base cavalier vs civic si, civic has 20 more hp, but cavalier has 20 more torque.

I dont see the reason to compare them, they are both "shitty cars".
