We're lucky that we have public insurance up here. Our insurance doesn't go up based on our individual accidents. It is based on risk of theft/accident/cost of repair, on a per vehicle basis, and even takes into account 4x4/4x2, trim level, etc.
I pay relatively little for my car insurance in comparison to someone, say, in the United States, or even neighbouring provinces, like Alberta or Ontario.

yeah that makes a lot more sense. Even if you drive a crappy car and get into a tinny fender bender you get raped for a long time

i dont know if any of u live close enought to nh to hear its news but its been really windy here the past couple days and my freind joe has a 88 camaro rs
and he was giving me a ride home from school and a fairly good size tree fell and all the branches fell on the bacl and roof of the car and the tree it self hit just behind us and a white truck following uss hit it. didnt do to much to his car just a buck of scraches and a few dents but the truck got pritty messed up if we where going a little bit slower we would have got owned

wish I had pics of my dakota. A month after gettting out of teh Army I was taking a friend home after a big snowstorm, came around the corner and the truck didn't turn. Went in the ditch, the roof was sitting on the steering wheel, and my friend went out teh back window

I pay $1500 a year for my insurance on the Camaro. I'm a driver under the age of 25, have NO merits or demerits on my license, and have had three at-fault (50% or more) accidents in the past three years.
You find me someone under private insurance who can say the same thing, and I'll applaud you for finding someone willing to lie through their teeth so stupidly.

Last summer I saw a nasty one. It was with a chrysler sedan (concorde, LHS, can't remember) and a honda minivan. It's a 5 lane road, two lanes for each direction with a center turn lane. The minivan merged into the turn lane about the same time as the chrysler sedan, from what I remember the minivan was slowed down and getting ready to turn into a driveway, and the chrysler sedan was merging into the center turn lane full speed, the nose of the chrysler gouged into the side of the minivan and tore a pretty big gash down the side of the minivan as the minivan rolled sideways ontop of the chrysler, utterly crushing the front of the car into an unimaginable amount of twisted metal and wreckage, when the chrysler came to a stop, the minivan rolled sideways off the car and then the backed up back to the curb on the southbound side. It all happened so quick, and I just remember hearing so much screaming and the sight of like 5 bodies strewn around the accident scene, one got ejected from the vehicle, another was like half-n-half hanging out of the minivan, the chrysler sedan was wasted, the driver's seat was sitting on the ground... the impact was so hard that the exhaust and muffler got pushed out the back of the car like 2 feet. It was a nasty sight.
