I for one am greatly impressed by the way horse power is being made by 4 bangers and still being able to maintain some sense of gas mileage. Up until recently this has always been impossible. So I guess the big question is, do we all evolve with the times or die like the dinosaurs. Your choice....

Have ne 1 u guys ever heard of the LSx engines....AKA LS1, LS2, LS6 & LS7...
THOSE r high-tech "low-tec" V8's....grab an LS1 F-Body, Stock with Bolt-Ons, Headers and exhaust and ur mid to low 12's....and u maintain a 29+ MPG gas figure.....
Saying all V8's r bad on gas is a misconception...
OH and for John...Buy a new o2 and u'll know what im talking about...

^How do u figure its the same??
Only thing it shares in common with it, is that its a pushrod motor and fuel injected...thats it...
Its got more torque, more HP, bore design on a SMALL BLOCK...
Same concept ALA pushrod, but beyond that it shares nothing...
BTW Cammed LS1 = Teh Sex...

LT1 came 93-97 in F-bodies (trans-am, firehawk, camaro z28 ss... whatever u wanna call it) Then in 98-02 they used the LS1. Both vette engines both 5.7l 350s... Some Firehawks even came with LT4s in '97 I believe... And I think some in 01/02 came with LS6s.
I figure... he swapped.

An LT4 is a slightly refined and improved LT1 which appeared in 1996 and was put into corvettes and very few F-bodies. It was a slightly more powerful on the top end.
