Chevrolet Cavalier

If the 3.1L liter in the older Z24 uses the same bellhousing pattern as the bigger 3.8L, you may be able to swap in an engine from a Grand Prix GTP. I don't know the deal with those engines, but it is possible that the 3100 and 3800 series engines are the same dimensions externally, making the swap even easier. If the supercharger doesn't clear the hood then you could just turbocharge it. That would be a pretty quick car.

Yes they are all the same trannies. Not sure about the engine mounts, but all GM's 4 and 6 front wheel drive cars use the same bolt patterns. The older 3.1 and 3.8's used the 44o trannies, where as the newer ones used the 4t40 and the 4t60 trannies. The 4t60 where more common on the 3.4L and the 3.8L motors in the heavier cars like the lumina's and GTP's.
Now the new Cav's built after 95 did not come with a V6, only 4 bangers. So if you want to swap one in, you will need to do some modding for the mounts.

lol i dont want to mod it. I am just curious why is it so cheap. LIke 5 year old costs 5k or something like that

2-3 years old they go for less then 3k
the jbody had some atrocious build quality, and laughable in every automotive aspect
dont want to steer you away from a car you like, but every modded jbody i have seen was a riced out 18 second car
yes, it keeps its own with "civiccs and corolas" but theyre bottom of the barrell economy cars too, so no use comparing slow as a city bus cars to one another
do yourself a favour, get your g2, drive it normally, learn a bit about cars, and one day you will end up owning a significantly better car. but if youre a "peformance enthusiest" the cavalier is no place to start
