oh and now that i have provided you with over a dozen reasons why the civic does not, in fact, suck, lets see how the jbody platform compares under the same criteria.
good aftermarket - the cavalier's is a lemonade stand compared to a costco in terms of aftermarket variety
excellent potential for fwd car - you do not see many cav's going fast unless theyre pro 8 car's with tube chassis'
fuel efficient - not really
well engineered motors - not really
resale value - no
build quality - poor
lightweight - meaty for a fwd'er
variety of engine swaps available - not really
proven power makers with or without power adders - not really
well engineered suspensions - jbody's underpinnings remained mostly unchanged for over a decade
fun to drive - poor feedback, poor feel
practical - yea why not
frequent updates and revisions from gm - its basic design didnt really change for quite a bit of time
big support in terms of aftermarket engineering - mostly from gm backed teams pouring money and talent into pushing their performance to the limit
so in that regard, tell me how the cavalier doesnt suck.
did the jbody forum kick you off? i dont get it, youre not wanted here, why do you insist on staying?

I can safely say that the domestic cars that I have owned have cost me LESS to own, than any import car I have owned. (that includes maintenance/repairs).

lets add to the pot of cars that suck
Sentras
Neons
Pursuits
Cobalt
Mazda 3
240SX
Golf
Celica
Civic
Corolla
MX-3
etc etc etc
All these cars suck. They have different performance levels such as with Sentras you can get plain old slow sentra or a spec V with better performance than base model. Most of the cars in my list are the same, they have slow base models and a somehwat faster models (ex. VR6 GTI for the Golf, SiR for the civic, GTS for Celica).
So when you say a car sucks you gotta ask yourself, in what regards it sucks. Economical performance, torque, whp, design, looks, comfort, reliability etc etc. Me personally ive owned a golf, civic, and pursuit. All 3 were base models, none of them were fast. But i purchased them for a daily driver to be somewhat economical and reliable. They served their purpose and didnt suck in that regards.
Pf course you guys see riced civics, sentras, golfs, 240's on the reg. Some of them have the power to back it, most dont. Those guys obviously place more value in exterior looks than performance. This whole thing is ridiculous. IF your cars is faster then thats great. There are a lot of fast cars out there that are rusted and fugly, obviously those ppl value performance. You can make almost any car fast with enough money. So yeah the list above sucks, performance wise. Then again a 5L mustang or a Camaro as beautiful and fast cars as they are, are gas guzzlers. They suck, for someone like me who needs a daily driver thats economical.
My point of the day, to each his own and those of you who insult other cars, its obvious that your doing it because your insecure about something in regards to your own vehicle ( if you have one).
People like to cut up someone elses ride because they need to feel better about themselves or their own ride. Why else would you do it lol?

3 years is good???, I have had my truck from new in 2002 and the only things i've done to it was oil changes and brakes, I use it for construction, personal use and towing my race car to the track about 15 times a summer, I just hit 260,000 on it.
The motor, trany, and rear end has never been touched.

lol, my 1990 z71 had 311 000 km on it when it was written off in an accident, it was used to tow my pair of atvs, a pair of ski doos up north multiple times a summer, i wheeled the out of it and at 311 000 km shed bark second gear with an auto, with an engine and tranny that had never been touched. fired up on the coldest mornings and never once left me stranded. oh and it towed my trail rig aswell, 87 toyota on 33's.
