I think its just because they are user friendly and easy to work on, swapping the engine is a matter of hours, 2, 3 tops. Engine harness is pretty straight forward, only complaint maybe would be having to pop the balljoints to get the half-shafts out. They are simple and straight forward, and that means easy to fix and upgrade, I think thats why people use civics.

Civics do not suck. with a Type R motor swapped in, they are good fast. just ike anyother car, with money, anythign is possible.

exactly, a fast car is not determined by the base vehicle alone, its the size of the owners wallet. Theres nothing wrong with civics. I hate to say it but jbodys arent that bad either, even tho im not too keen on them. its not what you drive, its what you've done with it. you people need to grow up. a done up car should be a display of the owners skills, nothing else.
