You haven't had much exposure to the traffic laws and punishments in some states, have you? A 4-point speeding ticket here can result in jail, bail, and potential vehicle impoundment in more than a few US states.

And yes, they do take it down there, and much worse too.

I actually feel sorry for the guy...

but gldwngr I would like to thank you and yours for taking this 120hp racing machine off the street... I mean when he got charged racing he must've been very close to reaching the speed limit...LOL

Will the courts issue a publication ban on this car crushing incident, so when the owner surfaces of the other "racing" vehicle it does not discredit the spin doctoring any further???

does this mean I can just buy a benz s65, tint it dark so they can't tell i'm young and go racinn? daaamn

Is the police discriminating against low pocketbooks and ricer taste?
Do you know where he did his street racing? It was in a 50 kmph zone in Markham. He was doing far above the speed limit when he got caught, and he was doing it side by side with another car on a two-lane street that had not been closed down to other traffic, and it was in an active industrial area where anyone could have come out from any of the many driveways along the street that the race was run.

As for the rest of your comment, that Mercedes involved in the fatal Mississauga crash may also see the crusher once criminal proceedings against its driver are finished, as may the Mercedes involved in the fatal Mt Pleasant Rd crash last January. Don't think that only Civics are going to be crushed - they're targeting racing on the street, not bad taste in car mods.

Funny, O/T a bit . But the shop I work at has a customer that has a ticket fighter franchise , an I just heard a excopper radio ad tonite stating the courts were taking pleas and lesser fines and stuff cause of the back ups in traffic courts .The ticket fighter guy said the same thing ..77.

Const. Kent Taylor said that if a car looks like a racer and sounds like a racer, then it usually is. The co-ordinator of project ERASE, which aims to drive racing off the streets, said police want to rid the road of menacing-looking vehicles.
I swear, these cops have the same mentality as a ricer.

Since 1999, 34 people have died as a result of street racing in the G.T.A.
OMG 34 people in 7 years!!!!!!!! It's so tragic even though people die every day!

seriously, I rather die and total my car then spend 10 years in prison and watch police have fun at destroying my prized possesion.

bottom line

bottom line is don't do it on the street. People who get caught give the ones that take it to the track a bad name. Just think if you kill someone.. could you live with yourself..

Tons of track days this year.. check the paper.

What if one of the six people killed was your mom, dad, brother, sister, girlfriend... boyfriend... etc? Would you still think those 6 deaths were so insignificant?

Are you stupid or something?

You can avoid all of the drama by not giving the cops reason to stop you in the first place.

But if you kill someone because you decided to run from the cops, that death is on your head and not on the cops. You are the one who has control of your gas and brake pedal. You are the one ultimately responsible for the damage caused by your operation of your car.
