Crazy to move to Pickering?
I live in whitby which is right next to oshawa and pickering, just go northern pickering or oshawa, for the most part nice houses and if you go past rossland in pickering you get some huge propertys, 10 min to the go train quite for the most part. Stay away from south oshawa and pickering. smaller houses less property alot more industrial.
I cant really advise you on this because I am moving to Edmonton in about a month or so. Only thing I can say is if it feels good for you, go for it. You can always move again if you decide it isnt any good. HTH
pickering is great. housing is reasonable when compared to peel or york region. if taking the GO, it is a piece of cake. takes approx. 25-30min to get to union. and like anywhere you go, there is a mix of folks u have to deal with, just look for a decent neighbourhood; north of the 401..., and oh i am one of those (middle easterns) indians.

Look in the Milton / Mississauga / Oakville area. Very nice places... commute is a bitch, time to ottawa will still be around 4 hours (my record is 3:05). It just so happens my parents are selling their house (619,000 :P)if you're looking to buy near mississauga rd and qew.
