K20 swaps don't run 12's, but thanks for coming out :)

And yea, a boosted SOHC at 13 psi probably would run 12's,but it would definitely take $2,000 or more to do it. And besides, for the price of my MR2 you could have yourself a FWD NA car, sure, but we both know who'd be faster on the track.

The point that I was trying to make is that it takes a lot to make a NA Honda run 12's. You can sit here and bark your rice math at me all day, but we all know what the reality is. Seeing as how there are 600 WHP boosted Civics that are in the mid-11's, and running 12's in anything is hella fast, there's no bloody way that a K20 Civic runs 12's out of the gate. I've seen a dozen K20 swaps first hand into just about every kind of Civic around and I've yet to see one of them hit 12's, even with the usual I/H/E stuff.

Show me some proof :)

EDIT

After talking to some of my Honda buddies (www.strd.com) who run the show in Calgary for Honda's, we've come to the conclusion that you don't have a clue what you're spouting off. Running 12's NA would take around 250 whp and a 1,700 lb car, which would require a ton of chassis stripping, low-weight OEM replacements, and a bunch of engine work to get it to 250 whp anyway.

Good luck, but I'm calling bullshit on you.

What do you mean "what does it matter if it's NA or not?" Small displacement engines, such as the ones found in Honda's, are hard to make fast NA because it's hard to make power. Hence why I was asking you. I'm led to believe that you don't actually work with cars if that mystifies you... :loser:

no what im saying is for pretty cheap u can make 300+WHP like i am in a civic. a civic that will eat your 20g MR2 :loser:

what would me tuning cars have to do with the fact that it doesnt cost much to boost a honda motor... why the **** would u stay NA if u drive a low displacement 4 banger?

and no, a k20 EG doesnt run 12's. a k20 EG doesn't cost 20g's either lol.

what car are u referring to when u say u can hit 12's with less than $2,000?

WTF are you talking about 20G's?

Where did the price come into play? And what the hell? You were talking about how there are tons of NA Civics that would smoke my car. Now you're talking about how cheap it is to boost a Honda motor... which is it buddy? When did I even make a comparison between my car and other cars? Oh, that's right, I didn't.

I know for a fact that $2K will get you a crappy junkyard turbo setup, and who knows how long that will last. But hey, if you want to keep spouting off (about what I don't have a clue), feel free, I'm done with your lame ass.

i didnt say about NA civics if u go and read the posts it was someone else. i simply asked why you were talking about NA civics when a turbo setup on a civic isn't very expensive to complete. also, thank u for clarifying the difference between NA and forced induction, i appreciate it :loser:. u then proceeded to speak out of your ass for another post and i responded. 20g's came from someone elses post and you said that u can run 12's with 2 g's... get your facts straight and learn how to read somoenes username cuz im not the guy ur talking about.

See, the difference is that I could get into the 12's with $2G's. And your post came directly underneath my post asking why NA mattered... like... DUH, why do you think it matters there bud?

And again, still waiting to see where the $20G's comes into play. It looks to me like you're just talking out of your ass because you're a Honda fanboy. Show me a $2K turbo setup for a Civic that gets it into the 12's and I'll buy you lunch.

when u do the work yourself 2g's will buy u a very nice turbo setup for a b series engine. i am a honda enthusiast but that doesnt make me bias. i asked why NA mattered because u were always quick to specify that civics cant run 12's NA. if u run 12's it doesnt matter if ur boosted or NA, or at least i wouldnt think. is there some prestige that comes with driving a naturally aspirated car??

im a fan of forced induction, mainly in the turbocharged form, which is why i asked that question. u responded with a dumbass comment for no reason, regardless if u thought i was the other guy or not it was uncalled for and childish.

you still havent explained how u get into the 12's with 2g's when your 270 WHP MR2 runs high 13's. do i need to mention that its not NA?

I thought that you were riding me because of the comment that I made about NA civics. I never said that a NA civic couldn't do 12's, I said that it would take a hell of a lot to get it there. And my bad about the comment :(

From my experience, $2K doesn't get you much in the way of a brand new turbo setup for a B-series engine, though I'd be interested to see what you're referring to.

And in regards to my car, 270whp is a very conservative tune. $1,200: drop in the fuel pump, spend a few hours dyno tuning the engine/up the boost by 3 psi or so, and I'm easily at 350 whp or more. If that's not good for a 12.9 then I don't know what to say.

you're right about NA civics which is why i never disputed your comments... they are $$$$$ to make big power.

2000-2500 will get u a very respectable t3/t4 garret turbo kit minus the manifold so maybe 2 g's alone is pushing it and $3000 is a little better of an estimate.

as for your mr2 i will be very concise, if i didn't buy an EK hatch i would of bought a turbo mr2 :smilie_da

LOL I've owned so many cars it's not even funny, but none of them have been like the MR2. A turbo kit for $3K sounds about right- turbo, FMIC, injectors, etc. should all be there for that price.

I wanted a turbo Civic for a while- a 92 hatch, turbo, would be mint. But given the choice between a Civic and a MR2... well, I've already owned two civics.

its still not a RWD turbo mr2 but i love my car none the less... plus mr2's didnt come with mad vtakkkkk yo. haha
