And yea, a boosted SOHC at 13 psi probably would run 12's,but it would definitely take $2,000 or more to do it. And besides, for the price of my MR2 you could have yourself a FWD NA car, sure, but we both know who'd be faster on the track.

The point that I was trying to make is that it takes a lot to make a NA Honda run 12's. You can sit here and bark your rice math at me all day, but we all know what the reality is. Seeing as how there are 600 WHP boosted Civics that are in the mid-11's, and running 12's in anything is hella fast, there's no bloody way that a K20 Civic runs 12's out of the gate. I've seen a dozen K20 swaps first hand into just about every kind of Civic around and I've yet to see one of them hit 12's, even with the usual I/H/E stuff.

Show me some proof :)

EDIT

After talking to some of my Honda buddies (www.strd.com) who run the show in Calgary for Honda's, we've come to the conclusion that you don't have a clue what you're spouting off. Running 12's NA would take around 250 whp and a 1,700 lb car, which would require a ton of chassis stripping, low-weight OEM replacements, and a bunch of engine work to get it to 250 whp anyway.

Good luck, but I'm calling bullshit on you.

Your Honda buddies dont know anything. A 1700lbs car with 250whp all motor is 11s. And 600whp is atleast 10s. My buddy has a stock h22 civic and he will smoke you. And if you dont believe it, we'll run tonight.

well the Altech CRX runs high to mid 10's all motor... so it definitely can be done. his esitmated power is only 410WHP and 250WTQ.

Public Transportation FTW!!!! ill smoke all of you!!

LOL okay bud- I'll pull my car out of storage just so I can show your buddy's stock H22 my tail lights :loser:

You fail to realize that there's a lot more to a time than just horsepower. The reason why a 600 whp civic is 11s is because it's a bitch to hook up. And hey, if you think that your buddies 190 WHP Civic (stock H22 less drivetrain loss) can touch my car, that's fantastic. Like I had mentioned already in this thread, keep the rice math at home :D Come to the track and post some slips, then start spouting off like you know something.

Oh, and my "Honda buddies that don't know anything" are from Speedtech Racing Development (www.strd.com), which I am willing to bet my life savings have done up more Honda's than you could even imagine- when the owner is rolling around in a 400WHP S2000, entering cars into shows across the continent, and even getting magazine coverage, I'm going to take their word over some jackoff that things they know what's up.

Show me your "stock" H22 Civic that can smoke my MR2 (which ran a 13.7 in CALGARY, probably a 13.4 here- we'll find out next season) and I'll buy you lunch and the gas that it took to prove it. Otherwise, go crawl in your hole and do some actual research before spouting off about your "buddies" cars.

Yea, but that CRX has had tons of chassis work and aerodynamics modifications. Being light and being able to slip through the air gives fantastic times.

PS - have you seen their next project? A Honda Insight, which has one of the lowest drag coefficients around! That will be SICK!

fousse69 09-07-2007 06:04 PM

man im not trying to be an but my h22 hatch runs a 13.4...lol but its only a h22 and yes i have time slips to prove this also ...but again this is in a gutted hatch on drag radials..

Well, until you bring out your car and race, we'll never find out. I dont know why you have your car in storage already, but if you decide you wanna go let me know. As for speedtech racing, I really dont care what they say. I have my own experience with Hondas, and know what they can do. I'm not saying Hondas are the best, or the only fast cars. I'm just saying you're being a little ignorant and underestimating what 190whp EG can run 1/4.

A 600whp civic runs 11s? Who are you to say that? Have you been in a 600whp civic or are you just guessing with all that knowledge you have. Maybe on regular street tires, but on a drag radial or on slicks, it will be closer to 10s or even 9s. Oh and if that 400whp S2000 is around why dont you bring him along with you. I got something for him too.

LOL every thread that you post in is you spouting off trying to run people. I guess you just broke the 15 second barrier, huh?

And it's not a question of me being ignorant or what an EG is capable of. 190 WHP is not really all that much power. Gut the interior, run some ultralight rims, and really do up the drivetrain and you might get some decent numbers, but we're talking a far from stock car.

And yes, a 600 whp Civic that runs 11s. Who am I to say that? A guy that's seen it first hand :)

LOL and I'd like to see what you'd put up against a 400 WHP S2000 :)

HAHA man, if you're gonna jack it at least make the numbers believable hahaha

X_LUDWIK_X 09-07-2007 09:30 PM

Yes, a k series hatch does run 12's.
Normally when you do a k-swap you also do IHE and k-pro.
So yes, they do run 12's.

Nowadays you got guys creeping past 400whp in eg's and hitting 10's.

200whp all motor will net you low 13's with slicks.

Each year, they just get faster and faster. :smokin:
