Not quite... a Civic is awesome when it has the stock body, stock lights, a lightweight dark coloured forged wheel (15"x6.5" would be my choice), a 1.8L VTEC engine (GSR or Type-R) with limited slip transmission, 4 wheel disk brakes, higher durometer suspension bushings, and a good suspension package (Tein coil overs for example).
If I were to ever own a Civic (hahahahaha...) I would buy a "wrecked" Integra GSR and swap everything into a basic Civic hatchback, and leave the exterior of the car stock looking. My friend did this, and his car is awesome.
And don't say I'm a Honda fan-boy... I'm just someone who can appreciate a lightweight well sorted out car.

Like I said many times, there are two types of people in the tuning scene. Hardcore enthusiasts, and brand bitches.
A hardcore enthusiast looks at a car from the potential perspective. What can be done? What about reliability? How's the weight?
A brand bitch goes by other peoples statements, and buys a honda because it has vtec, or a cav because ricers drive imports. To them its more important to drive a car that has a reputation, then to drive a car that challanges you to build it a reputation.

i dont care that the interior is made of plastic, or whatever else you guys say. ive had it for 3 years and not a single problem, not that you would believe me, cause aparently they break down after the 1st year and need a new engine. if i cared about the rep, would i drive a cav? no, id drive a civic, and thats it. y do i enjoy modding my car, cause i like cars, i like learning and doing things myself, and a cav is a good car to do so. i have more important things to do with money right now since im still in school then to go out and buy a in supra and spend thousands on it so i can come here and say look at my supra.

After which I sold the suspension on it and got that money back so my car was free.
Cost of modifications is another story.

so it didnt just cost 300, in the end, it cost more. plus i cant see the logic in buying an old pos car that im gonna have to spend money on every month to fix when i can buy a newer one with less problems.
ps. give it a rest, you dont always win.

Whoa, you may need to re-read my post. If thats why you drive a cav, then good for you. I didnt mean it to sound like you drive a cav because your anti-import. If you see potential in the car then that is ALL that matters.
What I was getting at is the people who buy stuff based on brand names and brand loyalty. Like if someone were to say, I will not buy a Honda because then i would be a ricer. Dude, I have seen rice porsches, and I never thought that was possible, lol.
Everyone has the right to do their own thing. Your choice of weapon is a cav, not everyone needs the same car, thats what makes modding cars exciting and fresh. Plus you think people with Honda's dont get ripped on? Trust me, we get ripped plenty. It seems like its the world vs Honda. Seriously. Even Honda is against Honda. I get ripped by people for running a SOHC engine. Point is, I see potential in it, I wanna work with it, and thats that. If I wanted a DOHC, and if that was the most important thing to me, I would have bought a different car. Especially seeing as I spent 10k on it.

you keep saying compare it to the other cars in its class, as if its faster then its economy, bottom of the barrel competitors.
now youre saying it can keep up...
ok, so what does your junk have going for it exactly? its cheaper? you drive a cavalier. no body likes you. go away.
