Need Help:bought salvage car from U.S
hey guys i bought a Salvaged Cavalier from Florida its a 98 Red Convertible
and the ownership was lost and the insurance papers needed to clear the Title was lost as well and its still under the previous owners name,
so my Dilema is
I need to have the Title Cleared and the Ownership
can sombody tell me how this is done i called the Insurance company "Glasglow" and they said that i cant have the previous owners info because its classified.
Is there any way around this? i can give the Vin number if that will help.

Did you lose the papers??. Maybe go take the vin and have a buyers package done up . That might tell you the last owners for twenty bucks and not a lotta hassles . Or maybe try that carfax stuff you see on ebay when buying cars ..77.

if this car is still in the usa you just lost your money.
on the other hand... why the hell would you:
1. buy a cavalier
2. buy a cavalier convertible
3. buy a us cavalier convertible
4. buy a us salvage title cavalier convertible
you can buy any similar scrap car up here for a couple hundred bucks.

isnt florida one of those states that issues a certificate of destruction rather than a salvage title?
Call Broadway Title in Alabama and ask extremely nicely for a trade reference for someone that does salvage titles...

you will need a copy of the title, a lien release form, all recalls done plus proof.
if you do not have all of these documents once you reach the border your car will not be allowed in.
after all of the fees and transport costs and taxes etc... you might as well buy one up here for the going rate of about 200 dollars, and save some money.
