Its already stated that GM will keep the V8 in the new RWD car now confirmed the next CAMARO and im dam sure its gona be a good engine more then likely a LS2 or a member of the LSX family, YES there will be a V6 s/c or not there will be. Its been argued on alot of forums if there should be a V6 and yes there will because not everyone can afford the power and insurance but would love to have the looks and some power thats why the V6 is around. Look at the new mustang sales its all about the V6 really cause its cheaper and looks just as good as the GT. If you dont belive just look at sales of the past Camaros and Firebirds the V6 always made up most the sales so there for GM will need the V6 to make the sales as well.

Ever heard of the 1LE Camaro? No AC, fog lights, or power options would lead me to think it is well stripped.

As for the Camaro I don't care, I do not plan on owning one. If I buy another sports car it will be a compact like an EVO. I don't feel like buying some car that just had the word Camaro painted on as some sale ploy.

not a factory car, it was done aftermarket, and that's not stripped that used to be called normal.

the problem with that is the gm v6 in a car as heavy as this thing is bound to be will be under powered, the mustang is lighter. The insurance is almost a mute point also (when I last checked it was within $10 for a v8 full coverage over a v6 did it for kicks)GM also has been rumored to be killing off it's only good v6 the 3800 series, they have no other v6 that would work (all teh other 6's they have are pathetic)

What arch you don't like the mighty 2.8?lol BTW why are the newer cars so heavy anyway? I figure since everyone was getting away from metal bodies the weight would drop.

the 2.8 has been gone since the early 90's, the new plastics weigh more than the thin metl that's been used (the 4th gen had a ton of plastic, and weighed more than any other generation camaro by a bunch)it's all the frills crap (sound deadener is the biggest culprit) all teh power accessories, air bags, and other required safety stuff (they have to have more bracing to pass safety rules)

yep, for some reason they got heavier with each redesign, goofy isn't it.Keep in mind the first gen was considered a compact car for it's time

last time I checked mine there was a lot more difference than $10. If mine wasn't a V6, I wouldn't have it, cause I could never afford it.

they didn't have the big blocks but the car grew in size, not to mention alot of the big blocks had aluminum parts, and the emmissions crap added a bunch of weight
