No more fun...
So I've basically decided that I'm not going to drive my shitbox this summer. The only way my insurance company would insure it is if I lied to them and didn't fully disclose everything that was done to the car. And even if they somehow insured it and I got into an accident, they would deny covering it after seeing the car. I don't want to drive my car every day knowing that if I get into an accident, my insurance company will more then likely deny me.
I guess I'll have to drive my 100% bone stock automatic Ford Contour every day... which I guess is what the insurance companies goal was in the first place... no more modified cars on the road... My only hope is that the company which is planning to insure modified cars (www.solocanada.com) pulls through and starts selling policies before the summer.
Who else is worried about thier insurance coverage? What are you guys doing about it?

My car is 100% illegal.
It would never pass a safety.
It would never pass an emission test (visual and driven).
My insurance company thinks the car is stock, and they charge me $485/month for it, and that is listed as an occassional vehicle. If only they knew it now makes 3 times the stock hp/tq as well as suspension/brakes upgrades....It would be more like $2000/month.
So anyways, If I get in an accident I am ed. They will drop my coverage. Meh, what are you going to do.
I also hope that the new modified car insurance ends up hapening. Although I will have to make some small adjustments to my car to make it 100% street legal for them to cover it.

Fred, i say..just drive your car.
I doubt anyone would take even a second look..just dont rice it out and youre fine..
Maybe splatter a bit of mud or dirt on the side of it..and no cop will turn his snout in your direction..

i dont think its the fact of getting hassled that hes worried about i think its because if he gets into an accident, he wont have coverage, which i understand but whats the point of having the car if you cant drive it? plus if you do get into an accident in that bad boy it will only put a little scratch in the other car but your car will be demolished

It's not the engine I'm concerned about anymore... its the stainless steel brake lines (not DOT approved), the slotted rotors, the urethane bushings, and the full race coil-overs.

However, ive heard they no longer take new people if, you have 1 ticket, accident or are under 25.
