so i was going to work last night to pick up a scheduel and paycheck and its time to retighten all of my exhaust work cause it rattles like a bish. it pissed me off so much cause it was fine for a while and now it feels like a POS with everything rattling. and then my stupid SES light finally came on which i thought mayeb id get a break cause it took forever to come on but no, so now i need a 150$ tune which is going to be very hard to get an appointment for seeing i have school and gymnastics practice everday except sunday and i work the whole weekend. WTF, all this crap falls on me at once.

well i talked to people at Speed INC and they said it MIGHT pass emmisions but not guranteed, the guy i talked to at this other place was recommended in a thread by this guy who also took his to Speed INC then this guy. luckily Chad sent me the whole thread and i read through it all finally getting to this guy, who said he CAN make is pass and i wont have any trouble assuming everything else is good. o well i was kinda expecting it. thing that sucks now is work called and i have to work 1-9. w/e i need a tune and some other crap.lol

I feel your pain on feeling like your car is the suck when the exhaust rattles. Its embarassing. First it was my d@mn header popping a weld......I get that fixed and my ENTIRE system replaced, and now a heat shield is rattling like a biatch.

My SES light has been on since I bought the car.....the only time I notice it is when it occasionally goes off or starts blinking, heh.

how do you think it can pass emissions? first off with an SES light it wont pass..second with no cats nor smog equipment nor EGR it wont pass the visual and even if you dont have a visual, you wont pass the exhaust analysis test.

The exaust on my 240 rattles too, its the most irritating thing on earth, it hits to tow hook. so im going to have to lop it of with a sawz all.

It's getting tuned so it won't have the SES light, there's no visual check, and it's an OBD II so there's no exhaust analysis test. All they do is check the gas cap and through the connector to the car's computer to see if it's throwing any codes.

damn im movin to WI. here they do a full visual, exhaust analysis, gas cap, EGR functionality, SES check, and sometimes they plug in and see if there are any stored codes.

when my exhaust was factory my y pipe hit the tunnel brace constantly and it pissed me off so much i had the radio cranked every time i drove it until i put my headers etc... on. Tonys the one who figured out what it was that was rattling actually hehe.


and yea Chad owned Caleb with his knowledge. lol. Illinois is still pretty gay about emmisions. to the facts...you can tune an LS1 to read "ready" for anything, so when u get rid of EGR say you can just set the computer to make it say ready so it will pass no matter what when they plug in, but with LT1s its harder because you cant just set them to "ready". but i talked to this guy and he said hes tuned a ton of LT1s around this area and they have all passed with EGR/AIR etc. deleted. yes i will fail a visual, but the people are stupid and only look under the hood or bottom of the car if you fail 3 times, but if you pass 1st time you are good to go.
