You have to pick a horse power number you want to hit and whether or not you want boost. If you want to go NA K20A Head with the K24 Bottom end. For boost go for a straight up K20a2 it has a lower compression ratio then the k20a. I personally am about to finish a boosted built K20a2.

What you said is the best^^^^ but be prepared to spend all that money and get shillacked by a B series motor. K makes too much torque

If I were to build a k-series it would be only 1 choice.

K20A(Type r head) + K24(TSX Block)

I think this would be great for both ALL motor or Boost. Reason being is that for ALL motor it has a high flowing head and 2.4L Displacement.

For boost it would have the same high flowing head + the 2.4L block. Bigger block = more power.

The tranny would be up to you. For all motor applications the Type R tranny would be best because of the shorter gears. For boost people recommend the 5spd Base RSX tranny for the longer gears.

just my 2 cents...

DDM got it right.

btw, if any of you guys were going the normally aspirated track/circuit racing route, stay away from the k24.

I went with a K20a2 my self in a EK. Its a lot of fun to scream up to 8500RPM safely. I would not rev a K24 block that high, piston speed would be unstable.

You would have more tracktion problem with a K24 short block, but you would also have more fun with the low end torque.

Depending on the car your putting it in, if its light go with the K20a2. I can let you drive my EK if you'd like and if you really like it you can buy it.

Well the K definitely has traction problems. K20A2 on boost 140 km 6th gear spinning on the squeeze. Traction bars are a must with a k. Roll cage also seems to be a must. Had to turn the boost down.

I went with a K20 in my ek and it was ok. and thats running KPRO and DC Swap header. My buddy had the same setup as me, ran with my ecu, and left his subs in the back of his ek and ran a 13.1. im sure i could've knocked a 12
