This only happens initially. After I have it running and try it again only the check engine light goes on. The fuel pump doesn't seem to engage and the car doesn't start. Though it only started once when it was in neutral. Could this tstill be the main relay? The check engine light never really stayed on for a long time until only recently only after I had my brakes done. Also, if I try to get a honda diagnostic setting I get a 'constant' check engine light. Does appear to have a corresponding id to a part or system. I also had the fuel pump replaced by a shop, only to have this condition carry on. Regards, John |

I know that when I try to start it it will fire then die in the span or time while still turning the ignition. The question is, why does the fuel pump not engage (after it warms up) like it does in initial rounds of firing? Where can I get information on the fuel pump relay online. Searching stuff with google and altavista only brings up add web sites. Searching for information on automobile repairs is terrible on the web! Thanks, John |

I know that when I try > to start it it will fire then die in the span or time while still > turning the ignition. > The question is, why does the fuel pump not engage (after it warms > up) like it does in initial rounds of firing? Where can I get > information on the fuel pump relay online. > Searching stuff with google and altavista only brings up add > web sites. Searching for information on automobile repairs > is terrible on the web! > > Thanks, > John > > The fuel system holds enough pressure for the car to briefly start, but not enough to maintain running unless the fuel pump keeps the pressure up. The solder problem on the relay PCB makes it -intermittent-,which is why it works sometimes, but especially not when its hot out. In all the time you've spent on these posts, you could have resoldered the relay and discovered if it was the problem or not. -- Jim Yanik,NRA member jyanik-at-kua.net |
