I would think silicon would do that, not silicone.

I know of at least three engines ruined by leaky master
cylinders/boosters and this was in Texas.

What the guy meant is to use Valvoline Synthetic DOT 4 Fluid. And I believe
other brands are out there.
This is not DOT 5. I used it without any negative effect. Does it make stop
faster? Don't know, I bleed
my brakes every other year.

I noticed in a later post that the poster indicated that it was DOT-4
synthetic... I have no idea what that stuff is make up from. DOT-5 is
the silicone stuff.
