i guess it was vtec?
So anyways i decided to take a finale ride in my protege before i sell it(2 Months Ago Before i moved to Canda). Im driving down a straight 4 lane street and i hear an anoying sound buzzing at my rear. So at first i dont pay any attention to it, then i hear the anoying sound get even more anoying woosh this "OMG" CIVIC!!! flew past me. luckly for me the light turned red up ahead and i get to pull up besides him and man is he blasting that techno i look at him and laugh to myself so i take off normally and then i hear his "vtec" engage (isnt this cool its just like a rocket taking off ) So i said might as well and i punched it spun 1st spun 2nd and put 4 cars before the next light. He pulls up beside me revn' his car like its a supra. The light turns green and he peels out and dissapears into the night**No one has ever fully experienced 5th gear vtec and lived to tell about it. The one person who did supposedly travelled foward in time. We are still waiting for him to appear. IE. THIS GUY**So i lauigh and pull into McDonalds.
BTW: I had a 1996 Mazda Protege with a BPTurbo engine 200whp and 14lbs.
His car was a hatch eg i think, im guessing he had a b16 or slower because i walked him while spinning.

The BPT has something called torque, and it wasn't until recently that Civics got 200 CRANK hp. If you've got 200 whp of course you walked all over him- if he's NA he didn't have a chance.
Then again, I know many a civic that would kill much "faster" cars. A friend of mine has an 11 second Civic in Calgary with over 600 whp and he daily drives it, yet you'd never know it by looking at it.

Of course, my car was nothing special and at 14 lbs of boost 200hp is nothing lol. I just thought the guy was funny, i have respect for all cars and my car was not the fastest out there, probably one of the slowest. Your welcome for the quote lol.

No its not, basic engine "concept" but the JSpec BPT produced by mazda puts out more stock hp and sotck tq and has a slightly modified bottom and comes stock with an AWD tranny, and like i said it was not the fastest thing out there....

you can usually pick out the guys with the slower hondas, they get really offended when you make fun of vtec, lol... priceless
i'd bet a 200whp protege would still be low 14s, if not high 13s, then again, i dont know what they weigh or what the stock hp numbers are...

Wow, not to bad man finally someone who can take someone joking lol. Well my car came stock with 99hp from a 1.5L engine. I swapped that engine out for a BPT (T4cyl) engine from the Familia GTR. Stock dynoed it had 170 whp at 10lbs. With an exhaust, intercooler, rased boost (by 4psi), turbo manifold, i made 200whp at 14lbs. Extremely slow for the mods but it held its own, never took it to the track but i could walk a stock Type-S and i had the rear of the car gutted low 2000 lb car. Not to bad for a 4 door. lol
