If someone has a 4 cylinder and you plan on racing a v8 you better have something good under the hood because in most cases (not all) the v8 is going to win.
That's just reality.

Theres a whole bunch of factors involved in that. Just because you have a V8 doesn't mean you are always faster. I'd much rather have a lightweight I4 powered car then a heavy *** V8 powered car. Just because my car would have an I4 doesn't mean its necessarily slower.

I agree with you!
That's why I said the V8 won't win all the time, But in alot of cases they will.
I have alot of respect for anyone who can create a fast car wether is a 4 cylinder of a v8.

On the contrary, just like there are a million guys out there that think their 4 cyl is fast, there's guys out there that think their V8 is fast. Case in point, my buddy and I went to look at a Monte Carlo SS that he was thinking of buying. Anyway, the owner was going on about how fast this car was and how hard it pulled, blah blah blah, etc etc. I was fully expecting a car that would easily light them up in first gear and part way through second. We got in, and he put the pedal to the floor. A little chirp from the rear tires and I was pulled back into the seat with mild force. No word of a lie, not the bash the car, but it seemed like the thing pulled about as hard at my V6 Duratec Contour.
My point is that everyone thinks their car is fast until they have either been for a ride in, owned, or got beat by something that is faster.

Don't get me wrong.
I'm not saying that my car is the fastest out there....I've been smoked by and Eagle talon and other cars with beefed up turbos and whatever else they had done to them.
Look....all I'm saying is I beat an Integra that night and it was fun.

There's a lot of people out there that think their integras are the fastest car on the block. With some it is. But some of them need a reality check every now and then. Check out the kill I posted here about the C4.

For one thing I wasn't the one doing the honking, and nowhere in my post does it say I did....read it again.
Who cares if I have double the cylinders! He chose to buy that perticular car probably because he likes them, and that's the same reason why I bought a mustang....because I've always liked them.

pretty much any V8 from 74-92 down were dogs due to fuel shortages and emissons it was hard for auto makers decent numbers like 13s out of the box.I would have to say chrysler is somwhat responisble for the rice era.Remember back in the 80s after 81 all dodge was making was turbo 4s like the hatchback Omni and turbo daytonas yep the starting grounds right there.I drive a V8 daily i dont find it that bad on gas but ive been driving big cars since i started driving.Nice kill!
