suzuki swift gt vs. acura integra type r

I agree, launching a swift is very difficult and it takes a lot of practice to get it right. Our first gear is very high (3.49) combined with skinny tires makes it even more daunting. The key is lowering tire pressure, getting the rpm just right and not dropping the clutch. you have to feather it out, but very quickly. i use the kumho 712's 185/55/14's. they hook well when its warm out and when the track is sprayed. My best 60' is a 2.219 which damn good for a street tire. As for the tranny, I DO NOT POWERSHIFT AT ALL!!! I drive my car daily and i need it running well. I just shift as fast as i can, fully letting go of the clutch on every shift. I only have to shift twice as i finish the 1/4 at the top of third.

The car was dynoed at 117hp atw at about 9000 rpm or close to 140 at the flywheel. A stock gt comes with 100hp at 6800rpm. thus mine has almost 40% more power than stock. Its really fun to drive. The best is the car's power curve does not drop off. its still climbing at 9000 rpm. Because i can't rev any higher without solid lifters and stronger valve springs im limited to 8800 rpm tops. My next move would be get some solid lifters and valve springs then retune it until the engine actually begins to drop off. who knows where that is, 9200, 9400,9600???

i don't call BS on the type R part. Type R are only fast from a dig, but dead slow on the highway. I don't know how some of you people think type R has really good top end. My friend never race me on the highway in his type R anymore, because he know he will lose everytime. I would love to see how your swift go again't my SR-V on the highway.

That lil swift sounds like a blast to drive, can i have a spin in it? you drive mine (stock C95 dd with 380,000kms on it, lol). I will be building my version of a swift/firefly/metro type car (actually Im gonna use the body of one cuz it should be quicker for me to build it than scratchbuilding a new bod), heavily modded but mainly built for fun but I expect it to hit 9's or lower on the track (if they let me on it to begin with). Im not a fan of high top end speed but I LOVE launching and neck snapping acceleration so it will be geared for that and not for best 1/4 mile et's. My major prob is not building it but making it street legal and insuring it. DRAGONFLY XSS watch for it, trips.

Shouldnt a Type-R do more then a high 14? My POS Colt should do a mid 13, from what others have run with similar or exact same mods.
The swifts are quick no doubt, because they weigh next to nothing and the 1.3L DOHC's are pretty nasty but nothing incredible.
