As for JDM engines, you never know about those. When I first got my JDM engine I was stupid and got the shop I bought it from to install the engine. They had 3-4 7M's at their shop at the time and after waiting 2 weeks for them to do the swap I went to drive the car home and I ended up getting stranded on the 401. Oil Pump seized, spun a bearing. The engine was under warranty so after a couple heated phone calls I had the car towed back to the shop (at their expense) and had it replaced for free. I went in the back looking at there supply of engines and it turns out they didn't even use the engine that I picked out of the 4 laying there (I remember distinct paint markings on it). Anyways they installed the one I wanted at no cost, only to have the HG blow a month later. This is when I decided not to rely on shops anymore. Moral, be very (very) thorough when looking at JDM engines. They are not as good as people make them out to be. 30K km's or not, a 16 year old engine is still a 16 year old engine.
And Scottyp, I would also be very interested in the total cost of importing a jza70 supra from japan. If it is within my budget I may just have to sell mine and get one of those.

The body has 300k. He says they are all highway miles and the underbody is still perfect. im going to try and talk him down. We'll see what happens. and i may end up building by what you are telling me. Last thing i want is to tear it apart a second time
