hey guys im new to this board so hi
well my friend and I got a ticket for careless driving, because we pulled away from a stop light to fast. we were not racing, he was driving a stock 95 neon soch and I was driving a 87 300zx turbo (not stock)and I never passed him, proof we wernt racing? my question is: does anyone know a good company/person to use to fight this ticket? figured x-copper but I dont have any experiance with this so I dont know how good they really are. thanks in advance

I can't recommend anyone to help fight the charge but if you explain more about the situation maybe someone here can help you. You don't say if you were beside your buddy or behind him. You only say that you pulled away too fast. Are those your words or the officers? Was there any other traffic? Where was the officer? Did you squeel your tires? etc.

There is no case here for the cop to argue, if you posted the right facts here. Pulling away from the lights too fast is not a charge. The law canonly determine if there was unnecessary noise from tire spin. The rule books states that you can pull away from any stop and accelerate as fast as you want without causing noise or going over the speed limit.

A careless charge must include some sort of dangerous driving condition. IE, aggresive cornering, aggressive lane change, acclerating hard and then braking abruptly, not paying attention to what you were doing. These are just somethings that fall into a carelss category.

Forget about getting a lawyer, they are a waste of money and time in traffic court. Just go in and plead the case to the judge, give him all the facts. You will be given the disclosure of the case, read it over and pick apart the cops statement. A friend of mine just did this and had 13 motor vehicle safety infractions and a street racing charged thrown out by doing it himself. A lawyer wanted $1800 for one day in court and was only going to plea bargin down the case.

man cops are retarded when it comes to like this.. i mean a cop pulled my buddy and i over when he was drivin his mazda protoge there was rocks on road near rutherford.. and the light turned green and he didnt even kick up dirt and the cop pulled us over and he was like "iam watchin you BOY" lol some crazy like that... but yea we were like loook theres dirt there any car taht goes over that will spin its tires... he let us go with a warning..

chances are the cop wont show up anyways. I sat in court today as a witness to an accident and I would say that out of the 25 charges they heard in the morning only 3 were actually sustained.

that isnt true at all. coppers get paid time and a half just to sit in court for these tickets. they are almost always there now...believe me, i get a lot of tickets!

x-coppers went bankrupt and now some old employeed bought out the assets and are running the company...probably still as crooked as ever...
