Depends on who does it. When I was reserching mine I was quoted in the range of $1300-$1600 for a compleate rebuild. I eventually went and just bought a perfromance tranny for about $1700.00 and had a local shop put it in.

Unfortunatly it won't make that much of a differance. Look at the prices of rebuilts on Ebay for instance. Even for the 700r4 the price is very close to the 96+ 4l60e. Good luck my friend.
