Exhaust?
Hi all,
I just bought a 1999 Camaro coupe, so far I am very pleased with it, except one thing, its just to quiet! Its not a Z28 so I'm not sure how good I can make this thing sound but I'd really like to try. I want it loud but not to the point were I wake the neighbors up when I leave for school at 530 in the morning. What I want is somthing deep sounding, like the sound clip on flowmasters site for the 80 series crossflow, but I dont want it to sound like a god damn rice car. I seen in the video section someone had the flowmaster 80 on there 3.4 and when It got higher into the rpm's it got all "not american muscle" sounding, I wouldnt know if the 3.8 would make a difference or not, but I was just looking for some imput on where to go with this.
Sorry for the long post, and I will get pictures up later today or tomarow.

Flowmaster sounds like crap on just about anything IMO..V8 or V6. I would stay away from them for sure, esp if you are not wanting to have the higher pitched tone.

I've got the Magnaflow cat back on my car, it's got the 3.8 too. It sounds really good, not to loud but fairly deep for a V6. It does start to sound a little bit like an import after about 3500 rpm, but that is what all V6's will sound like it doesn't matter what exhaust you get. As for what series, as far as I know they only have the one type for the V6.

Sorry man, I can't get a sound clip. My car is frozen under a car cover at the moment, plus I don't have anything to record it with anyway. Check out the magnaflow website, I know they have soundclips, can't remember if it was from a V8 though.

Had a Magnaflow on a 96 3.8. Sounded good. Any good muffler shop can fix you up. I ran mine out the middle with an SLP lower valance (2 piece). It was kinda trick! I posted a picture a while back. Do a search. SLP Center exit. Its a white 96 RS.
