Say if you do put slicks on both cars, can it really knock off a full 2 seconds? If Chad has seen the same vid I have I don't think the Vette that ran 9's had slicks either. Just big fat cheater slcik type tires.

the bias ply tires were only about 9 inches wide, and think of the worst tire you can and it gets better traction than the best bias ply (my first camaro had bias plys for a week before I replaced them, it was horrible broke lose constantly and that was a straight 6)

I would like to know how 100 lbs is "a lot" less weight:

http://www.fantasycars.com/derek/car...nfelterc5.html
http://www.edge-inc.net/cars/index.c...ta/id/1037.htm

Just admit the Lingenfelter would win, because it would. Just because the ZL1 is a 800,000 dollar car, doesnt mean it would take the vette. Trust me, I love this car, Ive read all about it, its a stronger car.

I also once saw a lingenfelter for sale for 50,000 in a classified, and yes it was in perfect working condition. I wish I was about 10 years older when I saw it, because I could probably afford it.

those weights are different than what I've seen, the vette outweighs a 4th gen by 100 lbs, the zl1 is almost 1000 lbs less (minus driver) the vette comes real close to 4000 pounds and is rated at only 50 hp more (and even at 100 pounds the vette would need more than 50 hp to win with traction)

That's one thing I never understood. Why is it sports car's from the 60's have not only cheap tires but they were like 7" wide? They put big blocks in the car but don't do anything to put the power to the ground.

the big tires didn't exist at least not relaible ones, teh wide tires would shred like recaps (all those truck tire carcasses on the interstate imagine that in a muscle car)
