i have thought about maybe my car needs a tune up. but its rated at 17 city and i do 90% city. so since im really hard on the gas pedal 13 seems normal. ive gotten 16 before.
well i did my fuel filter and all my fluids when i got the car, never did the PCV, dont feel like struggling with plug wires, when i yank the heads to repair the gasket im planning on doing plugs, never done an FI service...maybe i had a leaking injector...and i just installed my K&N with a new filter.
so i dont really think anything is wrong. the idle is smooth. the whole car vibrates but thats the exhaust...right...cuz any car ive had when i installed an exhaust it liked to vibrate.

but damn i had a bad day. for lunch i took the t-tops off, went cruisin around, i finally hooked up my sub so it sounds so sweet and i added some tweeters to my a pillars. i just love my car now. i was thinking about long tubes and 4.10s and a hotcam. that would make my car so f-in sweet.
once i fix the bumper and the head gasket i know im gonna wanna keep it. but whenever i park my car and i see the huge oil spots i just know its never gonna end. and today as i backed out of a parking spot and turned the wheel i heard what sounded like a ball joint popping :banghead:
then on the way home i drove next to a dark blue 05 tib. looked so sexy with the projectors on and the low sleekness.
i cant decide

Do this... next day you have completely off, TOTALLY detail your car. I mean every inch of it. Polish the body, shine the tires, clean the wheels, tire-shine the fenderwells, dust off the interior, then take foaming tire shine and spray your interior panels with it, spray it on your weatherstripping, clean the glass inside and out, shampoo the carpets (and seats if they're cloth), use leather conditioner on the seats, and tuck her away in the garage for you to admire (it'll keep the dust off). Maybe go over her with some Quick Detailer for good measure.
You'll fall right back in love with the car again. I did that with the Camaro a few times and it worked. But this time, it was for a reason of "I need a work vehicle" rather than "I don't know if I want to keep my car".

i guess the only thing keeping me from parting with it is the power...just now coming home from my girls house i was at a light next to a camry. maybe an 02. it turned green and i just cruised along. he started to go faster than me so for some reason i just floored it and smoked him.
he wasnt racing, i just didnt want him going faster than me. i look back and realize how rediculous and unnecessary it was. plus my girl and i were just out to dinner. i drive responsibly when im with her but i still give it a little off the line, which she doesnt like.
so having less power will be a good thing.

Keep in mind the age of your car, now figure teh new one probably will have teh same interior issues in the same time or sooner (face it quality is not getting beter on ny mas produced item, not to mention most of teh interior parts are made by the same company)

I was just watching the Fast and the Furious 3, and I found this line funny... Made me think of this thread...
Han: "(Gives kid an Evo) Youre representing me now... What, you think I was gonna let you roll around in a Hyundai?"

well some news on my TA...
i didnt believe my tech friend who told me it was my head gasket leaking. on an OHC motor maybe, but not a SBC. so i had another tech at work look at it today. he got on top of the motor and looked really good with a light and mirror. its the intake. we saw oil coming out through the damn silicone.
so a question. if i bought an intake gasket set from a gen-I SBC and used the seals for the front and rear would they work on an LTx?
this sort of changes things, cuz now theres nothing really wrong with it. i just ****** up sealing it last time. we got a good look, and even though the bolts are torqued to 40, the manifold isnt all the way down. so some **** must be in the bolt hole.
i still think tibs are sexy...
