I understand where you're coming from. I just sold my Camaro for a Jeep Wrangler because I needed something better on fuel (not too terribly much better, not a huge priority for me) and something practical for my business. A Tiburon is a stupid f'n purchase. It's small and more impractical than your Trans Am, and chances are it'll be in the shop for repairs under warranty more often than you'll be driving it. Do I need to paint you an f'n picture? You're buying a piece of s--t.

Just lease something better that you can afford comfortably per month. A lease is a good way of getting a sweet-*** vehicle with the payment of buying a little sheeitty vehicle.

Hell, FWIW, the BMW 3-Series leases out awesome. You could probably get into a 3-series coupe or sedan for the same price as your finance payment on a Ti-blech-ron.

You came on here asking our advice, and talking about the car. We told you about it, and are just choosing not to listen. We are not flaming you, we are TELLING you. Its a peice of **** car. Im not saying YOU are making a mistake, im saying anyone who buys a hyundai is making a mistake.

This is not personal, and you know that. But this site is probally 50% auto tech's and most the rest of them have a very good working knowledge of cars. When not a single person on this board is agreeing with you, and I doubt anyone on any other forum would agree, why would you persist? It has nothing to do with it being a certain amount of cyl, or a non domestic. It has to do with it being a peice of **** made car that will leave you worse off than you already we're. If you want to buy it, thats your choice.

We are not trying to sell you a car unlike the Hyundai dealership, we are telling you from experience.

And dont say we dont know where you are coming from, i've got 3k in rebuilds in parts alone in this car. Know why I keep it? Because it does the best of any ive found, and its easy to work on.

I'll stop ranting about it now, but just THINK about it before you buy it man.

i personally dont think its that big a deal, u want a reliable good mpg dd which makes sense (thats why im keeping my v6), plus in my opinion honda, hyundai, and most other cars in that catagory are pretty much the same its all depending on which one u like the look and feel of more, u like the look and feel of the tiburon ok thats fine so good luck, i would only suggest something like a scion tc because i personally like the look of the cars and toyota i think makes great cars, so as my final post (probably) on this thread, if u really like the car i honestly say good luck i only suggested other cars cause i liked how they look better, so good luck and let us know how everything works out

im not saying youre flaming me, im just saying some people here are getting a little too persistant with their opinions. i asked for opinions and i got them. i am happy that you all chimed in. just because i went against your recommendations doesnt mean im being a jerk or i dont respect your voice, i do and i appreciate it. if i get a hyundai and it breaks mroe than my TA i'll admit i was wrong. you guys have seen me do it before, so dont worry.

a lot of you say you know hyundais are pieces of ****...well how do you know? is there a general consensus? see ive been doing a lot of research lately...in 2003 they released a new tiburon with a v6, however the transmissions remained the same, and the new 6 speed they released used the same clutch in the 5 speed 2.0 liter. during the 03 and 04 model years many v6 owners needed new transmissions and there was even a class action lawsuit in the works. specifically the clutches were the biggest problems, but the automatics had issues too.

now since 05 theyve revised the transmissions to handle the output of the v6s and there arent nearly as many warranty claims. and this is all from researchingd on newtiburon.com and edmunds discussion forums, places just like this getting first hand from tiburon owners.

caleb, have you looked into the older grand prixs like 99 and such, like archs kinda. they look pretty nice, they are fairly big and lots of trunk space, and they arent too slow. plus i would imagine parts arent too bad for them and you could do most of the work yourself.... just another thought. good luck tho w.e u do.

You already know my station on it, so i'll stop beating the dead horse.

Bottom line, just enjoy what you get. Your spending alot of money, make sure its what you want, and if it is what you really want, get it.

Hey no big deal- I would love to a warranty too, but just because it has a warranty doesn't make it good-

"...I could slap a warranty on a box of ****, but then all you have is a warranted box of ****..."

I know its not verbatum, but I hope someone knows what I am talking about...

makes sense but i would get the auto personally just because ive never had an automatic car and someitmes it would be nice not to have to shift especially if im not looking for performance
