92-95 TURBO RED CIVIC vs. RED Supercharged SUNFIRE on 401 W to DVP..WHERE ARE YOU??

see the thing is, i dont see the point of tin canning a car, 1 seat no anythign else. my car is getting a cage this year, full itnerior and thats how i run it. i wont even change my wheels but i am buying lightweight wheels. you mention 40 pounds in wheels, are you referencing that yourrunning wheels that weigh that much less? what you need to do to be accurate is to weigh everything you pull out and then go to a truck scale and weigh the car to be accurate. my cav before i started cutting with no rear seats or sound dedoning weighed just over 2800 pounds with about a half a tank, also no spare or jack, and ive got a fully loaded z with a sunroof.
all im saying is be accurate with your numbers bro, its hard to say to guage your cars weight drop by what others have claimed to be accurate weight.
also are you removing your exhaust from the cat back? glovebox aswell, like i said man, its just too much to remove man. what you need to do is concentrate on lightening parts, cf trunk for example, removing ribbing where it isnt needed, rebars, replace parts with lightened parts. you can also run alero control arms, theyre aluminum, you need to shave the end by a half inch right on the dot but you should be able to save a couple pounds right there if anything

Ya I will be getting the autopower rollbar this summer since Im signing up for Solo I in May (even though its not needed, I just think if the car is gutted, the rollbar gives it some rigidity, confidence, and a hot stance especially if you dont have tint covering it up; but you will get pulled over all the time). By the way, are you getting a 4 point cage, whose making it for you? And how much?
In terms of the exhaust, Im getting a side exit but I wont do it till I get a 2.6 pulley since I will lose boost (i know its loud lol). Unfortunetly, they dont make cf trunk lids for the sunfires, and if they do they do, they wont ship it to Canada (so Ill just ditch that filler plate); nonehtless you make alot of interesting points. In terms of the wheels, my car has ricey 50lbs 18s on it that Im trying to get rid of. Im planning on getting Motegi Trak lites or even rota subzeros mated to drag radials. Stock steelies with wheels weigh 40lbs, track lites are 25 lbs with wheels, trust me the difference is more then 40 lol (but they're expensive). By the way, what is your car running? Where you from, Toronto?
Most of the weights I provided are very accurate and Ill make sure i get it weighed before and after; hopefully make a post on the org. (im sunfiresam off the org). Irrespective, I cant touch it until the summer, for now Ill exploit the cold weathers advantage in boost!
And ****69, if you beat an SRT4 you'll take me to! Congrats on that, seriously!

a bigger exhaust wil lonly show you a loss of boost becuse your opening up the bottleneck in your exhaust system, youll infact sitll be creating more power. turbo cars have the same problem with boost spike from a bottle neck in the exhaust, you get rid of it, you dont spike that extra 2-3 pounds but you make more power. im from the niagara region. im mainly over on the jco but i lurk the org from time to time. i post as the same thing on all the boards i go on so you cant miss me.
cage is being built by one of two people, a buddy of mine does that so he'll most likely get the job and ill get the hoop made by bicknell racing and build on from there. and yes it is a 4 point unless i can move my seats over a little in which case itll be a 6 point. i want to be able to benefit from the structural rigidity from a cage if i can thus a 6 point would be the best for me, plus itll let me remove those pesky door beams, lol.
as for wheels the rota slipstream is a very light and vrey affordable wheel. im doing the independant rear suspension swap one of these days as its been sitting in my basement for 2 years now and ill need to either run a dual bolt pattern wheel or the same wheel but 2 in a different bolt pattern. so im up i nthe air on all of that for now but itll get done eventually. i will be running the slipstreams, think theyre a sexy wheel and no one gives them a second look when you run the black set.
and speaking of srt4, heres a little vid for you, my car with just the turbo and no tuning, sub 9:1 afr running an srt4 that was trapping back then 106 mph
Putfile - turbocavvssrt4
ok apparantly it says that the file has been removed, nice of them to just kill the file like that, il lget another cpoy and post it up

make up your mind first.
hot stance? wtf is a hot stance? is that similar to the buffalo stance? you want confidence, but you removed all of the safety from the car.. so it wont be driven on the street, you are going to trailer your 14sec sunfire around every weekend to the drag events right?

i think you might want to start adding your weights again though.. most 16" tires are 20lbs+ and your motegi's are at 10lbs in a 15" and 15lbs in a 17".

hey thanks man, that was all done with zero tuning on a setup that had less than 1500 km on it and the stock motor
and with no tracction till third and mild shifting with an easy launch the car still went 13's lol
