Yeah my bad. But any big block, chevy, moparts, or ford sounds awesome though glasspacks.

What does that have to do with anything? There are companies that make 3, 4 and 5 rotor race engines, and those are insane.

Yeah but the "big" rotor engines are still generally only 3 liters. 900 hp+ 3 liters though. I gotta find a wayto cram one of those into a rx8. That's the way that thing should have come from the factory. Min 3 rotor.

RX8=
Displacement and boost = better
But here's the thing most of the old V8's don't have the heads to flow anything near what the new cars do.. **MOST**

If they could get the V8 to flow like a 2jz head that is sex on wheels.

How about scerw v10 and put 2 2jz-GTE's in? 6L v12...

The 850 BMW v12 is garbage for what it is.... Basically 2 I6 engines which1 bank can be turned off cor crusing, but still has no power.

Give me a engine like a Hemi that can turn off 1 bank, a twin trubo setup and free gas and i'd be in heaven

289 Tunnel port heads, had the 289's revving to 9k RPM in the 60's... those were insane heads. And I heard the 351 Cleveland heads are ing cavernous. You need to have a serious car or you'll always lean out with those. I don't think there's any issue getting nice heads for a V8, just most of them have pretty small ports STOCK.

Re the RX-8.. more of a sporty family car I heard Mazda's bringing another rotary sports car out, they just had to prove that they could build a solid rotary car in the first place and that the market was still there for it. Can't wait to see what they come up with.

The key to speed is indeed making lots of torque over a wide band and into relatively high RPM's so that you can take advantage of shorter gearing.

This is why an RSX-S which makes like half the WTQ of a 90's Mustang GT manages to keeps up with it.

Welll thats also why the newer supra can keep up... It's got 6 gears, and the ability to keep in high revs so people thorw on huge turbos to take advantage of that fact and make stupid power.

One thing's for sure there is no other 3L like it. Even ported the older pushrod V8's lack the ability of a good port since there just isn't material.

Modern V8's like the LS7 is a good example of a very very fast engine with the power of modern day tech.

Add boost to LS7 and it will be retarded.... Anyone in a 6CYL and 8CYL that think their car has as much potential of a boosted v8 is a damned fool.

Now I'm no V8 Guy but I can see when the writing is on the board.

:thumbsup

Rsx can't keep up with a new mustang.... Stop lieing to your self. 260 HP maybe more now and like 290-3xx ft tq.... RSX can keep up with maybe a 15 year old fox body thats about it.

stock rsx-s vs stock 90's GT only stick to eachtoher in north american roads with 5 lanes going straight for 20 km , so that 400 kilo canadian women can drive them easily

if we were in europe , the gt might end up cutting shortcuts through the trees , or trying to take off a cliff or something of the like

Don't forget that some cars are 4 bangers to balance other things out . If you don't belive me , take a 2000 hp hick ride with a V20 , 9000 CC engine over (ask billy ray or clayton ) to europe and see how many diesels embaras you on the open road . ...

i'm not bitching about that

new stangs kick *** and drive amaizing ... but some people don't get it and keep on arguing how easy you can put an old boat into the 11's without realising that , that's not how everyone perceives fun driving a car .

we're not talking necesarily civics here

I think an RSX or an A4 have more style than a stang any day of the week . Even the new stang , might be fast , and cute and all , but when u get into it , you feel american Qrapality all over , looks like it's a toy rather than a car inside .
